Balancing act! That’s what you’ll have to pull off in the month of March, Cancer, as competing demands on your home life and career start to pull at you. At the top of the month, you have a plethora of planets in your tenth house of ambition: Venus, Uranus, and Mars. Yowza! That’s a lot o’ planetary energy encouraging you to go after your dreams. Then vivacious little Mercury zips into this sector on the 13th, adding to the urge to fulfill your passions.
On the surface, this sounds good. You’ll have the drive, intelligence, charisma and smart ideas to carry you forward into a new future. The problem is that you may become so focused on fulfilling your aspirations that you neglect your family or personal life. Or, your personal life (for whatever reason) starts to impinge on your goals.
For example, you’re all set to start a new job, something with a lot of added responsibility and perhaps overnight travel, when you find out that your elderly Mom needs more hands-on attention. Like—at your house. Or you’re getting a fledgling business off the ground, something that requires a lot of focus, and a child becomes needy due to problems at school or with their friends.
Flexibility with both your schedule and mental state will be required, otherwise you could (a) burn out or (b) lose your cool. A tough Jupiter-Uranus opposition on the 2nd could bring this all home. These two face off in the heavens every 14 years, so this aspect is not something to ignore. They will oppose each other again on September 28th, so issues that arise now could be repeated again later in the year.
And if your family is dysfunctional—or even shows the tiniest shreds of being off balance—these oppositions could bring everything to a rolling boil. Forewarned is forearmed, my friend. Just remember that you have so much planetary fire power pushing you to go after your heart’s desire that you don’t have time to waste on needless family dramas. Obviously, a sick child or parent needs tending, as does a love relationship that needs nurturing. But avoid situations that aren’t of your making or concern.
Adding to the mix is Venus’s retro spin on the 4th. Venus retrogrades once every 18 months, and it will do so in your ambition sector (yes, the same place where all of this activity is taking place). Could this slow down projects that you’re working on? Absolutely, for at least a month. Since Venus governs profits you could experience a temporary cash flow issue if you’re self-employed or work on a commission basis.
But since Venus is also the planet of romance, it’s possible that your love life gets a bit scrambled. Reaching agreement about long term plans could be difficult. For instance, you may be dying to have a traditional wedding with all the pageantry but your fiancé wants a no-frills, casual party. One of you may want to just cohabitate while the other wants a ring on it first. You may not be on the same page about saving money for a major future expense, such as retirement or a child’s college education.
That being said, there are still good days for romance this month. The 4th is super for planning a romantic vacation to an exotic locale, as are the 8th and 9th. When Mars moves into Taurus on the 9th, it should be easier to reach an agreement with your amour as this is your house of deeply held wishes. Just don’t become too forceful about your hopes; taking a “my way or the highway” approach could backfire.
The full moon on the 12th occurs in your third house of communication (and strategy too, I might add) which can help you flirt, socialize and reach an agreement with a lover about your plans. This is also an excellent time for hearing good news about a career coup. A project that you’ve been working on may finally come to a successful close, or an idea that you’ve been pitching gets the go-ahead from the muckety mucks. Partnerships of all kinds are well aspected at the full moon thanks to powerful Pluto in a helpful angle from your house of serious alliances.
The new moon on the 28th falls in that high wattage house of success, where the Sun has just arrived. This is your annual gift from the cosmos, a present that lets you kickstart just about any goal of your pleasing: finding a mate, losing weight, patenting an invention or writing an Oscar-winning screenplay. The tenth house, which is where this lunation takes place, is all about kudos, fame and prestige. You have an amazing window of time ahead in the next six months to make progress.
A few days before, though, it may not seem that way. A tense T-square in the heavens on the 23rd and 24th could create a tug-of-war between your job, chores at home, personal errands and your love life. You may feel as though you can’t get anything done, even if you could stay awake 24 hours a day.
This passes quickly, however, and on the 31st clever little Mercury zips into your very social house of networking and camaraderie. The heavy work pace will start to slow down as you make time for hanging out with the tribe and the people you love.
