Cancer, this is a banner time for romance. The month of October is going to be a game changer, bringing in new situations (the likes of which you may not have seen in over a decade). What’s the reason for the optimism? Jupiter, the great gift giver of the solar system, will be entering your fifth house of romance—a place it hasn’t been in over 12 years!
For the past 13 months, Jupiter has been stationed in your fourth house of domestic matters, trying to help you create a beautiful home and work things out with family members. It’s now moving into a lighter, more fun place. The fifth house not only governs a romantic partner, but also kids—conceiving them, raising them, spending quality time with them.
Many Cancers will become engaged over the next year, start a family or meet someone new. Things will heat up even more after the 23rd when the Sun enters this part of the sky. Chatty Mercury will also zip into this zone on the 17th. If there’s one thing that’s clear from your October chart, it’s this: you need to be open and straightforward about what you want out of love. Don’t be afraid to voice your opinion and state your desires.
This is no time for playing footsie or expecting someone to read your freakin’ mind. If you’ve been worried about “rocking the boat”, or waiting for “the right time” to express yourself, it’s now. No drama needed either, not with level-headed Mercury in da house.
Great days for convos are the 1st, 3rd, the full moon on the 5th (in your house of personal power), the 8th, 17th (Mercury glides into position), and the 26th. Put a big gold star on your calendar for Thursday, October 26th. Many astrologers consider this to be the most fortuitous day of the year because the mighty Sun conjuncts Jupiter. Simply put, this is one of the best days in 2017 to find new love, deepen your bond or conceive a baby. The energy builds as the 26th approaches and is still in play a few days afterward.
Just make sure that you’re not so in love with idea of being in love that you reach a point of desperation! Aggressive Mars rolls into your domestic fourth house on the 22nd, ratcheting up the desire to have emotional security in your life. Listen, it’s something that everyone wants. But the urge to nest may overwhelm you to the point of making demands, if you’re dating (“where the hell is my ring?”) or leaping into a relationship too fast if you’re single. Even couples have to watch out for this energy. Here are the dates to NOT push things: the 9th, 15th and 19th (“it’s either me or your job”), and the 27th.
Mars could also make you moodier than usual, a typical scenario when it’s in the fourth house. That said, there’s a new moon here on the 29th which can usher in a terrific new period. Many Cancers will move in with their lover, start a family or buy a place together.
A career matter may be coming to a successful close around the time of the full moon in Aries on the 5th. The first week of October is awesome for self-promotion, negotiating contracts and deals, and any kind of writing project (blogs, screen plays, manuscripts, term papers). Aries is your tenth house of goals and success, so any major aspiration of yours may start to fall into place around full moon time or the two weeks that follow.
The tenth house is all about stepping into your personal power. We stop being doormats, express ourselves clearly and impress other people when there is action in this sector. Which is great for you, but maybe not so great for malcontents nearby who resent your success and can-do attitude. The 8th, 11th and 12th could be days when co-workers or others oppose your agenda, so tread carefully. Avoid the desire to rip someone’s head off, especially on the 11th. The bottom line is that Saturn is involved on these dates, and this planet is all about maturity and putting together deals that will last.
Whether you like it or not, you may have to deal with these people for some time, so don’t be too quick to kick them to the curb or lash out. Besides, you’re in such a terrific position to move forward that you shouldn’t be paying attention to the petty people. Great days to ink deals and showcase cutting edge ideas are the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 24th and 26th.
It just so happens that the fifth house, the place where Jupiter is heading, is the sector that governs creativity and talent. Cancer, this is your best year in 13 years to develop new skills and polish up the ones you already have. Creatives, this is especially your year. Between now and November 2018 you should be making every effort to get your work in front of as many people and venues as possible.
