The cosmos has a sweet surprise for you, Cancer: a full moon in your sign on New Year’s Day. What a way to start off 2018! Full moons represent closure and transition in to a brand new chapter in your life. And when a full moon takes place in your zodiac sign, it spotlights your dreams and ideas rather than those of other people.
La Luna is in a super angle to abundant Jupiter in your house of romance and fun, as well as Neptune in your house of adventure. Yowza! The first few weeks of January are therefore stellar for finding new love, enhancing an existing relationship and making some exciting plans. Travel is on the agenda as well as taking classes this season.
But let’s get down to the overarching themes that the cosmos has in store for you in 2018, shall we? Between now and the end of 2020, serious relationships will be in the fore, more so than at any other time in your life. That’s because Saturn, the planet of long term success and maturity, entered your partnership sector recently for the first time in almost three decades. If you’re under the age of 30, you have never experienced this placement; if you’re between 30 and 46 years old, you were too young to be affected by it the last time it took place.
If you’re older than 45 to 47, then this is the second time in your adult life that you’re experiencing Saturn in the serious commitment house. Let’s put it this way: Cancers are THE most likely sign to either find a keeper or develop a stronger union with a lover than any other sign of the zodiac over the next few years. But you won’t have to wait, say, till the end of 2019 for the action to start. It’s happening now, fast, this month.
As January begins there is an abundance of planetary energy in this sector. The decisive Sun is there keeping Saturn company, along with powerhouse Pluto. Intelligent Mercury zips in on the 11th and amorous Venus arrives on the 17th. Can it get any better? Hell yeah! There will be a new moon in this sector on the 16th, and the Moon is in a terrific angle to lusty Mars in the frisky romance sector.
So don’t assume that it’s going to take Saturn a year or so to help you out. Singles, create a short list of the qualities you desire in a mate and then start socializing. Coupled up Cancers should be taking a close look at they union to see where they can improve it. I have to be honest: when Saturn is in this sector, a shaky relationship could collapse. It’s the job of the ringed planet to bring you stability, though, so if you end up parting company with a lover a new one shouldn’t be too far behind.
A fabulous lunar eclipse occurs in Leo on the 31st (yes, there are two full moons this month), which happens to be your house of security. Eclipses are full moons on steroids, rapidly tearing apart the past so that a fresh start may begin. Between this lunation and the end of August there could be huge changes in your love life, all designed to bring you the real deal, the kind of romance that provides you with comfort and security (in addition to love and sex!).
Career issues should clear up pretty quickly in January, so you can be off to a fast start when it comes to making decisions and progress. Erratic Uranus has been retrograde for months in your ambition sector, causing confusion. Maybe you felt like you were hopping from one idea or plan to another without being able to stay on a direct path. Well, that all ends on the 2nd when Uranus resumes direct motion.
So if the clock strikes 12 on New Year’s Eve and you don’t have a clue as to what you’d like to accomplish, or you need more time and input, it’s perfectly OK. The Cancer full moon on the 1st will help you to start planning your 2018 goals and transition to the next level. Wait until Uranus stations direct on the 2nd before you make final decisions about them. By the way, any goal that’s important to you counts, not just career. So if you want to lose 20 pounds, travel to Europe or write a book, let’s say, all of these fall underneath these cosmic guidelines.
Don’t be surprised if someone suggests entering into some kind of business partnership this year, as Saturn is in the house of alliances. An existing partnership could pick up steam, with both of you coming up with firmer ideas, better defined roles and improved long-term planning.
Between now and the end of 2020 is also an auspicious time to sub work out to independent contractors or retain experts, such as a literary agent or social media maven. If an alliance has run its course or is too much trouble to be a part of, it may fall apart. But just as in your love life, you should be able to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and move on, finding new people to work with.
All Cancers will be positively affected by the movement of Mars into your house of efficiency on the 26th. The red planet hasn’t been here in two years, so you can really start to blast through unfinished projects and chores. This is true at home as well as at work, so expect to be cleaning out closets, dumping old e-mails and balancing checkbook statements. The next six to seven weeks are highly auspicious for finding a new job or promotion with Mars here, and the Leo lunar eclipse on the 31st will kick this up even a few more notches.
Leo is your house of income, so something that you may have started around the time of the Leo lunar eclipse last August may come to fruition: a job hunt, closing a major deal, or scoring some big dinero through increased revenues. If you change jobs or even fields over the next few months, the results could be stellar.
One last note about Mars in your sixth house: this sector governs witness and vitality, so if you fall off the diet and exercise band wagon around January 7th, fear not! Mars will light a fire under your (flabby) ass to get back on track. Your best bet for success under current cosmic conditions is to find an exercise buddy to hold you accountable!« This Week’s Horoscope Today’s Horoscope »
