2017 isn’t going out with a whimper…it’s going out with a few big events that happen during the last twelve days of the month! The cosmos is playing Santa Claus this year, putting love planet Venus in an interesting spot right on Christmas Day. Saturn, the planet of wisdom and discipline, enters Capricorn for the first time since 1991 on the 19th. And earlier in the month Mercury retrogrades the same day as the full moon. Lusty Mars enters sexy Scorpio, and New Year’s Eve has fabulous energy for socializing. So let’s dig in!
The biggest news story of all is that Saturn moves on, something that will have a profound effect on all signs of the zodiac. It takes Saturn almost 30 years to orbit the Sun, which means that it spends about two and a half years in each of the twelve houses. It’s been in Sagittarius since September 2015.
Sagittarius isn’t exactly the best fit for Saturn. This constellation is known as the sign of the adventurer, while Saturn is all about tradition. Sagittarius is about taking risks—in love, business, and life in general—while Saturn is concerned with being safe and sound, doing things the traditional way.
But now that the ringed planet is moving into Capricorn it’s going to be happier than a pig in mud. These two are a natural fit. As a matter of fact, Saturn is the ruler of all of you who were born under the sign of the sea goat.
Capricorn is the sign of ambition and success, which means marching into your future with the confidence that you can pull off exactly what you want to achieve. And Saturn is the planet of logic and wisdom, urging you to take your time and do things right.
As a result, between now and the end of 2019 is possibly one of the best times in your adult life to go after your heart’s desire, whatever that might mean to you. Does this mean that things are going to be easy? Nope. Saturn is the task master, the wise old grandfather who knows that we need to put in the hours, sweat and discipline in order to truly appreciate our wins in life.
The action starts pretty quickly too, as the Sun follows Saturn into Capricorn on the 21st. They meet up the same day, making the 21st one of the most significant days in 2017 for clearing out the dead wood from the past and making some serious decisions about the next thirty years.
Love planet Venus glides into Capricorn on Christmas Day, blowing kisses at Saturn from her perch in the heavens. Ladies and gentlemen, the fact that Venus and Saturn form a conjunction on the 25th—meaning that they line up perfectly—means that a LOT of people will be getting engaged this year for the holidays. Saturn is the planet of tradition and Venus is the planet of amour; what could be better?
This month’s full moon occurs on the 3rd in Gemini, meaning that interesting news could come your way, something that you’ve wanted to hear. Since Gemini deals with learning and thinking, you may decide to take a class in the spring. Closing business deals and contracts is well aspected in the two weeks that follow, along with product and social media launches.
But Mercury retrogrades the same day in Sagittarius, the house that governs the “world stage”. What this means is that you need to make sure that everything you present to the public (or your clients, professors, admissions committee) is spit and polished. Don’t speed ahead with grandiose plans until Mercury resumes direct motion on the 22nd.
Sagittarius is the house of long distance travel, so if you’re booking hotel or plane reservations you must double check to make sure they went through without a glitch. Mercury goes direct on the 22nd, a time when many will start traveling home for the holidays. However, the three days after any planet resumes direct motion can be a little iffy, so don’t take any chances.
Red hot Mars swaggers into libidinous Scorpio on Saturday the 9th, turning up the body heat! The next six weeks could be quite lusty and a pregnancy might result (you’ve been warned). Of course, if it’s your dream to have a baby then this is good news.
Scorpio is the place where we bond with someone on a deep level emotionally, not just sexually. And considering the ultra-romantic traditional energy that surrounds Christmas, December promises to be an amorous time. Singles could met someone new especially on the 6th, 9th, 12th, 16th, 20th and 28th.
There’s a strong independent feeling about this, as if you’re going to choose someone who’s quite a different type form the old standard. And furthermore, you won’t give a horse’s patoot if anyone in your circle disapproves.
2017 winds down with the Moon in Gemini on the 31st. Ya gotta love it when the Moon is in the house of socializing on New Year’s Eve! You won’t have to travel far from home to have a good time as Gemini rules the local ‘hood.
Eccentric, brilliant Uranus is in fine form on New Year’s Eve, indicating that you could come up with some amazing new resolutions that might shock even you!
