One of the calmest months of the year is now underway. November is littered with positive aspects and only one or two difficult ones. This should come as good news, considering that the holiday season officially kicks off this month, bringing dysfunctional families all over the US together….in one room….with annoying relatives…to eat turkey and imbibe alcohol. The past few Thanksgivings were surrounded by harsh aspects, but this one’s a honey.
The day before Thanksgiving, murky Neptune finally resumes direct motion after traveling retrograde for months. This may have created confusion in all areas of your life, from health to money to romance. Perhaps you’ve been unsure about where to live, or whether you should look for another job. Maybe you’ve been struggling with a bad habit and haven’t figured out the best protocol for getting rid of it. Uncertainty about whom to trust may have arisen, and you’ve been on the fence about whether to part company or remain connected.
Clarity will return once Neptune goes direct, but don’t expect to see the light immediately. When an outer planet changes motion it can take awhile for the new energy to be felt. As a result, you may not want to announce over the Thanksgiving table that you’ve decided to move from Chicago to Bali. Or that you’re planning on divorcing your husband. Or that you want to go to law school.
With the Sun in optimistic Sagittarius as of the 21st, chances are that your dreams will be bigger and more filled with Technicolor. There’s certainly nothing wrong with that—except that Neptune is in the house of confidentiality. Even when it’s moving forward you need to be discrete as to with whom you share important information. So even if you have happy news to share, unless you’re 100% positive that you want it to be discussed and analyzed by everyone, keep it to yourself, at least for now.
An unusual planetary event happens on the 11th that might serve as a wakeup call, shaking you out of a rut. Traditional Saturn trines rebellious Uranus, forcing you to examine how you’re living your life. Uranus is the planet of genius and doing things in a fresh way that you hadn’t considered before. Saturn is all about the tried and true. Fortunately these two aren’t at war with each other—they’re holding a productive meeting about how you can stretch past previous boundaries! They’ve already had this convo twice this year (unusual in itself) and now they’re having one last summit conference.
So—are you brave enough to color outside the lines? Ready to take a calculated risk? With Saturn involved, you will remain logical and think maturely, a blessing under these circumstances. A great day to launch a new endeavor is the 25th when Mercury and Saturn form a trine. This is Thanksgiving weekend, so if you’re off from work it’s a smart time to tuck yourself away and do some strategizing.
This is also the first month that we’ll enjoy Jupiter in Scorpio for thirty days. The generous planet entered Scorpio on October 10th, scheduled to remain there until November of next year. Scorpio is a funky house in that it governs both our sexuality and intimacy, as well as our net worth. As a result November is promising when it comes to finding new love or creating a deeper bond with your beloved. It’s also an excellent time to assess your finances and consider new investments. Passive income rather than the earned kind is Scorpio’s domain, and now that generous Jupiter is here, you could uncover some new ways of making money on the side.
The 3rd, 4th, 9th, 13th, 16th, 18th and 21st are all stellar when it comes to matters of the heart and wallet. The 18th brings the annual new moon in this part of the sky, so use its energy to launch a hunt for a spouse, new lover or a “mailbox money” kind of investment.
The only day to watch in the sweet month of November is Sunday the 19th. The two most obstinate planets in the solar system, Pluto and Mars, square off in a confrontation. People will be anything from egotistical to downright obnoxious, making demands and playing power games. Each sign of the zodiac will be affected a bit differently, so read your weekly, monthly and daily scope for the 411. For example, Aries have to watch out for an angry spouse or boss, whereas Sagittarians need to look out for frenemies or people in group dynamics who may be acting selfishly.
That said, there are great days for socializing and having fun: the 3rd, 11th, 17th and anytime after the 21st when the Sun enters optimistic and free-spirited Sagittarius. The month ends with a super aspect on the 28th, a Mercury-Saturn conjunction. This is one of the best days all year to plan a vacation, entrepreneurial activity or consider going to school. Happy holidays!
