Just what we need after a year of lock down (LOL): the Sun enters Gemini, the most sociable and talkative part of the heavens, and Mercury goes retrograde soon after. Oy vey, everybody’s going to have to watch what they say. But we’re kind of used to that by now, right? After all, cancel culture is still alive and kicking.
Unfortunately, I think it’s going to get worse. And travel plans could get really messed up too. How to cope?
Here’s the deal: the Sun enters Gemini on Thursday, May 20, as it does every year. Gemini season is one of the best all year for getting together with friends over cocktails and dinner. It favors neighborhood activities, such as picnics and street fairs. Flea markets and outdoor concerts are also part of its domain. So is short distance travel. In my mind, if you can get there in a car or train rather than an airplane, it’s short distance travel. Easy-peasy.
Gemini season encourages cooperation through brainstorming sessions at the office. It’s usually a superb time for shopping your résumé, book manuscript, screenplay or art portfolio. Gemini loves to think and come up with new ideas, tossing them around with other people.
However, some difficult aspects are cropping up in the heavens real soon, meaning that this year’s Gemini season needs to be treated with kid gloves. And zipped-up lips!
The first set of stinky aspects occurs on Friday the 21st and Saturday the 22nd. On both days, planets in Gemini square planets in Pisces, the house of secrets. Listen to me, people, do not— I repeat, do not—reveal anything of importance to anyone from the 20th through the 23rd. To be on the safe side, keep your mouth shut for the next several weeks, if at all possible.
The problem from the 20th through the 24th is that the trolls and idea stealers will be out there. Anything that you reveal can be used against you, although you may not be aware of that right away.
Making matters more complicated is the fact that Saturn starts to retrograde on Sunday the 23rd in Aquarius, the sign of networking with other people. If there is anyone in your private or professional circle whose loyalty you question, pay attention. Saturn will be retrograde for several months and you may discover someone’s true colors. Make sure it’s not the hard way.
If you are working on a project that is intellectual property, or has big financial value, you really need to pay attention to what’s going on in the heavens over the next few weeks. Keep trade secrets under wraps. Business ideas, such as ideas for a new product or service need to be kept quiet. The same goes for marketing campaigns. Trademarks and logos and tag lines. Plot lines for a book or movie. Business mergers and acquisitions.
This isn’t going to be easy, because on Wednesday the 26th a lunar eclipse occurs in Sagittarius, the house of going loud and proud! This is where we go international, or garner attention from the news media. Sagittarius is a sign of entrepreneurship, publishing, contracts, licensing deals….. basically things that are really big.
Mercury starts to retrograde three days later on the 29th, which means that if you do try to make a big splash at the time of the lunar eclipse, your message could get muddled. Oh, and did I mention that Mercury will be retrograding in Gemini, the sign of communicating? Yeah, you heard me right.
The best advice I can give everyone is to pretend you’re an FBI or CIA agent. Assume that any piece of information that you reveal is (a) valuable and (b) could mean the end of you. Not fatal, but you could get “cancelled”. Assume the worst.
As I write this, several local teachers been fired from their jobs for teaching something that a student deemed “offensive”. Mind you, these teachers have had rave reviews from their supervisors (and students) for decades. They’ve been teaching the same curriculum for decades, and for some strange reason no one got offended in the past. So be careful. From the stars it looks like cancel culture is going to intensify over the next four weeks.
That’s true in your personal life too. Your 2,391 Facebook friends don’t need to know every freakin’ detail of your personal life. Be super careful about what you post on social media, texts and emails.
People are starting to travel locally now that Covid rules are starting to loosen up, but with Mercury going retrograde on the 29th in the house of short distance travel, you need to double check all of your arrangements.
By now you’re probably saying to yourself, “Uh, Jenna, do you have anything good to say about the next few weeks?”
Yup, I do! This funky energy should start to turn around on June 10th, when a whopping solar eclipse occurs in Gemini. Mercury will still be retrograde (through June 22nd) but people may start coming to their senses. There is a feeling of fun returning, especially with high octane Mars moving into flirty Leo on June 11th.
Mars hasn’t been in Leo in two years. Leo is all about shopping, going out to dinner and attending things like concerts and gallery openings. With a solar eclipse occurring the day before in the house of socializing, June 10th looks like the moment when party time can truly begin. Keep things on the down low til then.
