May is here and it’s time to slow down and think things through. Even if you don’t feel like it, the cosmos will see to it that you do!
Goats like to keep climbing up that proverbial mountain, which is admirable. But the problem is that you can lose sight of why you’re doing things and where you’re going. It’s time to stop climbing and take a rest break.
There are several reasons for this. First, Pluto went retrograde in Capricorn last month. This is important, because Pluto is the planet that governs your personal power: how you wield it, and how you might give it away.
Pluto is also the detective planet of the solar system, digging deep into your life to find weaknesses that need to be corrected. This could be within your mindset and habits, say. Or perhaps you’re not handling your finances in the smartest manner. Maybe you’re not associating with people who help you grow mentally and spiritually.
When Pluto retrogrades in your Sun sign, it demands that you get real. It’s not going to do the grunt work for you, either. It’s simply points out where the problem areas are and leaves it up to you to do what’s necessary.
And you may not want to hear this, but from your chart is certainly looks like some important inner work needs to be done. Which leads me to the second big aspect that’s occurring in May: a whopping Sagittarius full Moon/lunar eclipse on the 26th. Sagittarius is your house of closure and transition. It is the place where we wrap up the past and move on.
A standard full moon in Sagittarius is going to tell you to walk away from people, situations and habits that aren’t the best. But when there’s a lunar eclipse here you can get dragged, kicking and screaming, away from situations that aren’t right for you, whether you’re ready or not.
Sagittarius also happens to be one of your health houses, governing physical issues like illnesses, physical therapy and surgery. But it also governs the health of your mind.
So get ready, sea goat—May is going to be a month of reckoning for you. If you have been ignoring your physical health by working long hours and holding in too much stress, this eclipse could kick your butt. The same holds true for any Capricorn with bad habits, such as substance abuse or pigging out on junk food. Not getting enough sleep or exercise. Ignoring warning signs from your body that something might be wrong.
Likewise, if you’ve been ignoring negative thoughts and emotions, the eclipse is going to shine a huge light on this. The smart Capricorn starts doing inner work when May begins, so that by the time the eclipse arrives, you’re having an “aha!” moment rather than an “oh, sh**” moment.
The third aspect to pay attention to is the fact that the Sun enters Gemini on the 20th. Mercury goes there on the 3rd, and Venus arrives there on the 8th. Gemini is yet another house that governs your health, but on a lesser level than your twelfth house.
Sagittarius governs the real serious stuff like surgery or needing to go to rehab. Gemini, on the other hand, is more about getting enough fluids, vegetables and fruits, vitamins and so on. Smaller health problems like allergies, muscle pain and headaches are Gemini’s domain. The bottom line is that both of your health houses are highlighted in May, which means that you can run…..but you can’t hide… from health issues, both emotional and physical.
Gemini also is your sixth house of efficiently getting things done. Your work pace could really pick up after the 20th. If you have fallen behind with errands or work at the office, you’ll get a wakeup call at eclipse time, sorry to say.
You see where this monthly horoscope is going? It’s all about slowing down, getting caught up and taking really good care of yourself in May. You may want to run off and find a dashing foreign lover, or climb Mount Everest, or start an amazing entrepreneurial venture. But before you do any of those things (and you can), you need to take care of yourself first.
Saturn goes retrograde on the 23rd in Aquarius, your money house. This can actually be helpful as it will point out ways for you to earn and save more money. While you’re in such a strong organizational phase, take a look at your career or business and figure out a smarter way for building wealth.
Another big move in May is Jupiter, which glides into Pisces on the 13th for a ten-week stay. Pisces is your third house of self-expression, which includes promoting the living daylights out of yourself. Your third house also recommends playing well with others, strategizing, tossing around ideas and being part of a team. Once the Sun enters Gemini on the 20th you could land a new job, and it’s your ability to work as a team player that is going to count, even more so than your talent.
OK, let’s get to romance! Love looks good in May. As the month begins the Sun and spunky Uranus are in your fifth house of romance. This also happens to be your house of shopping, dining out and basically having fun. The new moon on the 11th is in this part of your chart, opening up a six month period in which you can start to enjoy post-Covid life.
There could be a happy surprise if you’re dating someone: the new moon is accompanied by a serendipitous Uranus aspect which could bring an unexpected engagement. If you’re single and looking for love, you could meet someone in an unexpected manner. Chances are they will be right in your neighborhood.
