Incendiary Mars is bubbling away like a volcano in February, which can steam up romance and job hunts…or make you say and do things you’ll regret. Mercury is retrograde too, so you’ll need to tap dance carefully around people and situations. Here’s the 411:
The planet Mars is like a double-edged sword. It can create painful, jagged wounds. On the flip side, it can smoothly cut the fluff and difficulties from our lives so that we can move ahead with grace and ease. The power is in your hands when Mars is active, which is happening all month long in February.
Every sign of the zodiac will be affected differently, but there is a steady theme to pay attention to.
Right now an unusual situation is taking place in Aquarius, the sign of friends, teamwork and networking. A stellium is happening, which is when three or more celestial bodies are in one sign.
As February begins, the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn are all clustered in Aquarius. Venus joins them on the 1st. This is a LOT of planetary energy focused on one part of the human experience.
If you’re a Leo, Aquarius is your seventh house of serious partnerships, especially love. For Capricorns, this is your second house of earning and saving more money. I recommend that you check out the February monthly horoscope for your sign to see how you will be affected (they go live at 8 pm EST on Sunday, January 31st).
Mercury went retrograde in Aquarius on January 30th, which really shouldn’t be too much of a problem. After all, with four other celestial bodies occupying the same part of the sky, Mercury won’t be able to create its usual havoc—although you do need to keep an eye on it. The messenger planet resumes direct motion on the 20th.
The bigger issue in February is that aggressive Mars is now in bullheaded Taurus, a place it hasn’t been in two years. (Unpredictable Uranus is there too.) Mars is forming a square all month long to planets in Aquarius, and squares bring tension— lots of it.
Pay attention to these dates: the 1st, 6th, 10th, 17th and 19th. Once the 19th comes and goes this militant energy starts to dissipate.
On the plus side, Mars is lively and ambitious. It motivates us to get things done. The red planet can cut through obstacles like a hot knife through a cold stick of butter.
But it can also make us pushy, to the point of being obnoxious. Impatient to the point where we take risks and do something stupid. We can become way too loud and proud.
So here’s the deal: it’s important to be a team player in February, considering the good of the group over your own personal needs and ideas. This is true in your personal life as well as your professional one.
Being too vocal and rebellious could backfire on you spectacularly. You don’t have to become a doormat, but acting like a precious little snowflake who is much more important than everyone else is a really bad plan.
On a global level, we may see people making some incredibly dumb statements and moves. Yeah, I know, we’ve been watching that movie for a long time now. People are weary of Covid, financial problems, racism and political unrest. Most of us just want our lives to go back to semi-normal. But that’s not going to stop some individuals from trying to rock the boat even more. Here’s how I see it: you make your bed, and you sleep in it.
OK, Now let’s move on to the good stuff that’s coming our way this month! Valentine’s Day is awesome for all twelve signs of the zodiac, with things heating up at the time of the new moon in Aquarius on February 11th.
If you’re single and looking, Aquarius governs technology and friends, so you have two good ways to meet someone new: online dating sites and matchmaking BFFs.
For those of you who are already involved in a relationship, the new moon is a good time to sit down and have a serious talk about shared dreams. Aquarius governs our values and most cherished plans, so open up your heart to your lover and plan the future.
Mars is actually being sexy and charming on the 13th, canoodling with amorous Neptune. On the 14th chatty Mercury lines up perfectly with optimistic Jupiter, creating a lively, light-hearted mood.
Once the Sun enters Pisces on the 18th, people will be more interested in tucking themselves away and recharging their batteries. After all, Pisces is the sign of closure and metamorphosis. Go into a cozy cocoon and quietly transform areas of your life that need fixing!
Hint: if you’re interested in a hush-hush beauty and wardrobe makeover, glamorous Venus glides into secretive Pisces on the 25th. This aspect is also wonderful for hot steamin’ sex, I might add.
Since Pisces also governs physical health—the more serious issues—it’s quite possible that this Pisces season could bring some positive news on the Covid front.
In astrology, Virgo governs health too, but the less scary stuff. Things like diet and exercise, taking your vitamins and getting more sleep. A full moon in Virgo occurs on the 27th, which is an auspicious time to start taking better care of yourself!
