Your birthday season finally arrives on May 20th, but the party gets started early! Mercury enters your sign on the 3rd, livening things up nicely.
Then amorous, glamorous Venus shows up on the 8th, turning your sights to love and your self-image. But at the top of the month you seem a little defensive. Fears and concerns may pop up, like “what will others think?” You may be afraid to take some chances, especially on the 3rd and the 8th.
But things do a 180 with the Taurus new moon on the 11th. Your confidence is building and you’re ready to go. After all, Taurus is your twelfth house of metamorphosis. It’s where you close out the past, which often requires some honest inner work on your part. You need to break free from restrictive situations, such as toxic relationships or a crummy job.
Chiron, the wounded healer, is active at new moon time in your house of friends and business colleagues. It’s encouraging you to stick with the “motors” (the people who are fun and who are going somewhere) and ditch the “anchors” (the people who are dragging you down).
Take a look at your habits and state of health, too. If they’re not up to snuff, you need to change them. The twelfth house governs physical, emotional and mental health. Considering that the new moon takes place here, this is a smart time to clean things up before your birthday season begins.
The desire to change gets strong on the 13th when Jupiter enters Pisces. Back in January, both Jupiter and Saturn entered Aquarius for the first time in years. Jupiter tore through Aquarius over the past few months due to its orbit, and it enters Pisces—your house of goals and success—on the 13th. But this is a short-lived stay. Jupiter will start to retrograde and re-enter Aquarius on July 28th.
What this means is that a terrific window of opportunity opens up on the 13th, two months when you can really hustle and make progress toward your goals. However, stern Saturn begins to retrograde in Aquarius on the 23rd.
Saturn warns against chasing after too many bright, sparkly things at once. There’s an old saying: “chase after two rabbits, catch none. Chase after one rabbit, and you’ll get it.”
It’s also possible that you may be unsure about which direction to head in once Saturn retrogrades. Things will get even more confusing when Mercury starts to spin backward in Gemini on the 29th.
So even though Jupiter, the planet of abundance and luck, enters your house of goals on the 13th, you really need to think things through before taking action.
Making things even more intense is the full moon/lunar eclipse in Sagittarius on the 26th! Sagittarius is your seventh house of serious relationships, and eclipses bring things to a head in a way that a regular full moon does not.
Romantic matters will really start to speed up. For example, a lover could propose marriage. If you’re single, you could meet the love of your life. With Saturn retrograde, you need to avoid jumping into things, as the ringed planet governs long-term happiness and success. Even though eclipses act quickly, you don’t have to do the same.
To be honest, if a relationship has been problematic, the eclipse could bring it to an end. With the Sun in Gemini, you will definitely be looking out for your own best interest, and so you should.
After all, your birthday season officially begins on Thursday the 20th! A wonderful day for feeling and looking your best is Saturday the 29th. Do something wonderful for yourself.« This Week’s Horoscope Today’s Horoscope »
