Ready to feel healthier and earn more? Virgo season officially arrives on Saturday, August 22nd and that’s what’s on the agenda this year. It’s always time to get your act together when the Sun is in Virgo, but this year the focus is a bit different.
Obviously Covid-19 has a lot to do with this. But there are some interesting planetary forces at play this year that everyone needs to pay attention to.
In astrology there are two zodiac signs that govern health: Virgo and Pisces. Overall wellness is part of Virgo’s domain. Things like diet, exercise and getting enough sleep. Solid nutrition. Dealing with minor aches and pains.
On the flip side, Pisces deals with more serious issues, such as surgery, physical therapy and mental health. Problematic diseases are part of this house, and naturally this includes Covid.
Once the Sun enters Virgo, this is the best time all year to bring your body into balance. Find a good workout regimen that you can stick to. The same goes for a balanced diet, not some crazy-ass kale shake deal. Logical Mercury happens to be in Virgo right now also, which is good news for being sensible about the way you treat your body. It’s no secret that cold and flu season is on the way north of the equator; start beefing up your immune system now.
Deceptive Neptune happens to be retrograde in Pisces, which is beneficial. When it slows down it’s not as murky. This should add to the feeling of being rational when it comes to good health practices.
Late August and the first three weeks of September are loaded with positive days in which you can make a quantum leap with your vitality and immunity. Pay attention to these dates: August 25 and 29th; September 1st, 2nd, 9th, 14th, and a fabulous Virgo new moon on the 17th.
I have to be honest here: there could be some flak going down between you and a boss or school about working from home versus showing up. This happens pretty soon, like on August 25th and especially on the 30th and 31st (ouch). September 2nd is a bit tense also. Fortunately after these days things seem to lighten up.
As I write this, kids are back in college and are throwing wild parties without wearing masks or social distancing. Some universities have already shut down or are threatening to do so. Teachers all over the United States are concerned about their safety, with many in southern states already on the job. A lot of northern states don’t start school until the day after Labor Day. I live in NYC where the teacher’s union is threatening a strike.
Things could reach critical mass in the corporate world and education on the dates I mentioned. What’s interesting is that level-headed Mercury zips into diplomatic Libra on September 5th, suggesting that people might start to reach an agreement that will be safe and sane for everyone. The next day Venus glides into Leo, the house of creativity, indicating that some new solutions could be found. It may not happen right away—Libra season could be when things gel–but the cosmic skies look good for progress.
Since Virgo also represents back-to-school (you know, sharpening your pencils and buckling down to doing some work) the Virgo new moon on the 17th could usher in some big changes.
Now for money, career and romance, which all look awesome during Virgo season! (I took care of the more tedious stuff first as you can see). In astrology, the most harmonious aspects of all are trines. September is loaded with them. They are taking place between planets and Virgo and Capricorn, the house of success and goals.
If you are looking for a new job, or a raise, or you’re trying to build your business this is the month to go for it. Do not assume that because Covid has trashed the economy that you should hold off and wait. Now is the time to strike.
Here are days to pay attention to: August 25 and 29th. Then keep an eye on September 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 12th (big stuff happening here), 14th and 17th.
The big deal on the 12th is that abundant Jupiter finally goes direct in Capricorn, easing up logjams in job interviews and promotions. Don’t forget, Capricorn governs all big goals, not just career related ones. If you’re looking for love or a new house or greater peace of mind, all of these dates are stellar for making progress.
The dates just mentioned are also solid for romance, and I do mean “solid”. There is a terrific sense of compassion and caring in romance this Virgo season. Relationships should start to balance out, becoming more of a two way street rather than “my way or the highway”.
If you’re single and looking, workplace or industry romances are quite possible. Just consider the consequences before getting into one.
Things really heat up on September 5th when Mercury enters Libra, the house of commitment, and Venus glides into the romance zone (Leo) the very next day. The remainder of September can be steamy indeed!
OK, now I have a question for you, my friend. I try to keep politics and current events out of this site because (a) I want this site to be all about you, and (b) I figure you can visit 10,000 other sites that are sounding off on these topics.
However, a lot of my friends are asking me about the presidential election—-what’s going to happen? So my question is this: do you want me to write an astrological blog post about the presidential race? I can tell you this: there are some absolute kickass planetary aspects going on between now and then, some of which reach a crescendo around Halloween (and this includes Mercury retrograde).
Let me know what you think in the comments. And if there is a totally different topic you’d like me to address, put that in the comments too. Have a wonderful week!
